I recently came across an article called “Wolf Packs of the Web” by a software developer and psycho specialist, Paul Wilson based in Auckland in New Zealand.
I invite you to read it. Paul Wilson has added no references in his article despite claiming he has much evidence to support his theories.
Once you have read the article above, I would then invite you to go on to social media and perform a test. Type in the words #muttoncrew into any social media platform and see how many individuals, not part of a group, are responding to mutton crew abuse at any one point in time. I’m sure you will find a few. Here is an example of some random accounts I found being abused by the #muttoncrew.
Introduction: The Misleading Narrative
Paul’s article portrays the Mutton Crew and NAFO as defenders against harassment and abuse, framing them as groups that use humour and camaraderie to resist "wolf packs" and "troll generals." However, this perspective overlooks an important reality: the Mutton Crew and similar groups are not innocent victims. In fact, they are the ones engaging in coordinated harassment of individuals they disagree with or perceive as enemies.
The writer's portrayal fails to acknowledge that the real bullies in this scenario are the Mutton Crew and their followers, not the individuals they target.
The Mutton Crew and NAFO: Misrepresented Defenders
Organized Harassment:
While the article paints these groups as defenders of truth, they are frequently the aggressors in online spaces, targeting individuals who challenge their views.
These groups engage in systemic campaigns of abuse, disinformation, and public smearing against those they oppose.
Use of Humour to Deflect Responsibility:
The Mutton Crew, in particular, uses humour and satire as a shield to deflect from their aggressive tactics.
By framing their harassment as "jokes" or "pranks," they attempt to downplay the emotional damage they cause to their victims.
Coordinated Attacks:
The Mutton Crew's influence on social media allows them to mobilize large numbers of followers to overwhelm and silence their targets.
These attacks are not random or impulsive; they are organized and intended to destroy the reputations and mental well-being of those who oppose the group’s views.
The Real Targets: Vulnerable Individuals Fighting Back
Isolated and Targeted Individuals:
The true victims in this situation are the people who are simply trying to defend themselves from the harassment they face.
Those opposing the Mutton Crew / CCDH are not part of any coordinated “counter-pack” but are individuals who have become targets due to their opposition to the Mutton Crew's actions.
Harassed for Speaking Out:
Individuals speaking out about misinformation, defending marginalized communities, or criticizing the Mutton Crew / CCDH often find themselves subjected to sustained abuse.
These individuals are not attacking or bullying anyone, but are instead responding to the overwhelming harassment they receive from Mutton Crew / CCDH supporters.
The Bias of the Writer
Connections with the Mutton Crew / CCDH:
The writer's article is heavily biased by their own social media following, which consists largely of Mutton Crew / CCDH supporters.
This connection suggests that the writer is more sympathetic to the group, making the narrative skewed in favour of the Mutton Crew's / CCDH’s perspective.
Unacknowledged Influence:
By failing to mention the writer’s close ties with these groups, the article presents a misleading portrayal of the situation.
This lack of transparency undermines the objectivity of the piece and reveals the writer’s personal bias.
The Reality of Online Harassment: Mutton Crew as the Aggressors
Tactics of the Mutton Crew / CCDH and Similar Groups:
These groups often use their collective influence to drown out the voices of those they target, leading to a breakdown of personal and professional lives for their victims.
The Mutton Crew’s / CCDH’s use of humour masks the aggressive and harmful nature of their actions, making it harder for outsiders to recognize the true scope of their harassment.
Isolated Victims:
The individuals targeted by the Mutton Crew / CCDH are often left alone to fight against a flood of coordinated attacks.
These people are not part of a larger movement or “counter-pack”; they are simply responding to abuse.
Conclusion: The Mutton Crew Are the True Bullies
In reality, the Mutton Crew / CCDH and their followers are not the innocent defenders they are portrayed as in the article. Instead, they are the ones engaging in organized, coordinated online harassment. By leveraging their collective influence, they target vulnerable individuals who are simply trying to speak out or defend themselves.
The article’s framing of the Mutton Crew / CCDH as the victims of abuse is a deliberate misrepresentation, fuelled by the writer’s bias and their connection to the group. The truth is that those opposing the Mutton Crew / CCDH are individuals caught in the crossfire of a larger bullying campaign orchestrated by these groups.
It is time to recognize the real aggressors in this situation and stop glossing over the impact of their actions on those who have been unfairly targeted by the insidious actions of the mutton crew.
